the genesis collection:
OVUM

The genesis series is inspired by the beginnings of great things. For this collection I chose the theme of the humble egg — ovum — because the egg is culturally universal and symbolic of many key starts. Eggs can turn into life itself, and are themselves thanklessly nourishing. I grew up starting my day with eggs, milk, and bread, and was fascinated by the complexity of nature’s architecture, from the thin membrane around the whites to the slow hardening of calcified deposits to protect the contents within.
Ovum also represents my first collection ever digitized. For all art and technology, there is something undeniably special about that which is first. At the beginning, rare is it for great things to resemble their final form. As Ethereum advances and evolves over time, whether through optimism, ZK roll-ups, sharding, or other means, it is moving to me to remember that great things, beings, and organizations often have a humble starting point, and that initial egg may look nothing like the final form.
